A facelift addresses the lower face and neck — jowls, the jawline, the platysmal bands of the neck — by repositioning, not just tightening, the deeper structures. Done well, it should look like rest, not surgery: a quieter, more rested version of your face, never the windswept look.
The consultation
We assess the layers of your face individually: skin quality, deeper fat compartments, ligamentous attachments, and platysma. We will discuss whether a facelift alone is the right tool, or whether eyelid surgery, brow positioning, or facial fat grafting should be considered alongside.
Our approach
We work with both deep-plane and SMAS techniques. Deep-plane releases the SMAS-platysma layer for a more durable lift; SMAS plication is appropriate for less advanced ageing. We are conservative about pull direction — vertical lift looks natural; lateral pull does not.
The procedure
Four to six hours under general anaesthetic. One to two nights in hospital under nursing observation; transfer to your recovery villa once swelling and any drains are managed.
Recovery
Bandages for forty-eight hours, sutures out at days seven to ten. Significant bruising for two weeks, complete resolution at four to six weeks. We ask you to remain on the island for fourteen to twenty-one days. Final shape settles over six months.
