Pigment,evened.

Intense pulsed light to address sun damage, vascular concerns, and rosacea — no downtime.

I — Overview

IPL is broad-spectrum light that targets pigment (sun spots, freckles) and vascular concerns (rosacea, telangiectasia). It does not resurface; it works selectively at the chromophore level. Done well, it gives clearer, more even-toned skin without downtime.

The consultation

We assess pigment depth, vascular extent, and skin type. IPL is suited to lighter skin types (Fitzpatrick I-III); patients with darker skin require alternative technologies. We will not treat tanned skin — sun protection for four weeks before treatment is required.

Our approach

We use the Lumenis M22 platform — the gold standard for IPL. Settings are tailored per session and per concern. Pigment lesions darken first (the 'coffee grounds' effect) then exfoliate over a week.

The procedure

Twenty- to thirty-minute appointment in our laser suite. No anaesthetic for most patients; the sensation is mild, like a warm rubber band.

Recovery

Mild pinkness for a few hours. Pigment lesions darken for five to seven days, then exfoliate. No restrictions other than aggressive sun protection.

Pricing

Indicative packages, in Australian dollars and Indonesian rupiah. Every plan is priced individually after consultation.

Three is standard for most pigment and vascular concerns. Severe sun damage may need five. Maintenance once or twice yearly thereafter.
IPL is best on lighter skin (Fitzpatrick I-III). Patients with Fitzpatrick IV-VI risk hypopigmentation; we use Q-switched lasers instead for those skin types.
Treated pigment darkens significantly for five to seven days then flakes away naturally. Vascular concerns may bruise mildly. No social downtime.
Yes, but we ask you not to sun-tan before or for four weeks after. The flight itself is fine.
Yes, particularly the diffuse redness component. It does not eliminate rosacea but can reduce visible vessels and overall flush significantly.
